Though not a huge fan of Toyota, as a former So Cal resident I attended almost every race since 1974. And Toyota was a big part of the experience. Sometimes offering discounted tickets, always having great displays, and advertising the race in the area. It won't be the same not calling it the "Toyota Long Beach Grand Prix".
My hope is this will open the door for another Major sponsor to step forward. Like Honda or Chevy, or how about "The Amazon Grand Prix of Long Beach". They have the cash, that's for sure.
Before Toyota, I remember one year the title sponsor was "Lubri-Lon", which seemed kind of desperate.
Hopefully it won't go back to a small-potatoes sponsor like that.
