Kanaan 2014 Indy 500 (Target/Ganassi 25 years)

Finally clearing some cars off of my workbench! This one has been languishing on the bench for about a year and a half and finally got around to finishing it. Here is Tony Kanaan's 2014 Indy 500 Ride celebrating the 25th Anniversary of Target's partnership with Chip Ganassi Racing. This one started out as a 2014 Event Car and added an aftermarket speedway wing. While finishing this project, I was reminded of two things:
First, making any Target Ganassi car requires a lot of patience to lay all of those sponsorship decals.

Second, This era of DW12 is such a pain to take apart and put back together. Lots of interior screws (some of which I forgot to put back in) and a somewhat challenging front suspension to put back on. It didn't help I wasn't as careful as I should have been when I took it apart the first time...

Thanks! I did the Dixon one a few years ago, then started the Kanaan one shortly afterward and never got around to finishing it until now. It is nice to finally have the pair completed and to finish some projects that I have been dragging my feet on. The nice thing about being a teacher is that I have 3 months of uninterrupted building time, but the downside is I have 9 months of very little time to work on things so projects stack up quickly. I still have 5-6 builds in various stages of completion so I'm trying to knock out as many as I can before I put my brain back into teacher-mode
