You're off to a great start, but how are you going to paint the thing after you have already assembled it?

The car looks really good in grey primer. I have always love the look of models mocked up in primer. Have you finished up the rear suspension?
Looking forward to the Servia build.

Most parts are not glued. Now, the idea will be to paint parts and assemble them finally. I prefer to do fit tests before painting to see that everything is on the way. The rear suspension was tested and I think there are no problems with this part.

Continuing with paint job. Two coats of TS-28 Pure White. Home made decals applied. Panel lines are 0,15 mm black decal. Tires painted with TS-82 Rubber Black. Indycals decals applied.

That's really looking good Juanjo. How difficult was it to use that small decal for the panel lines? It sure makes them stand out. I usually use a .01 drafting(or Art) pen when I do panel lines. I just might give this technique a try in the near future. Thanks for sharing this.

On the panel lines, first use Microset to position more or less on the line (help if the line is already grabbed). Then dry lightly, not completely, and apply Microsol lightly to soften the decal, and finally place the line carefully with a brush and blade.

Juanjo: Another unbelievable build by the Catalan Master...I am gonna’ have to build a Servia car with driver figure just to have one of his incredible helmets with red and yellow stripes and Dali on the sides...Have you ever got to meet him? Do many of your countrymen follow Indycar because he is in it? Did you get live coverage of the 500? Is Barcelona mostly F1 fans?
My first builds were the AMT Lotus and Watson in the 60’s: listened to the 1965 race on the radio and have been hooked ever since...I used to read Road and Track magazine to find out who won F1 races and sports car races; usually about a month after the race...Discovered Tamiya through a R&T article, and did some 1/20 builds...with wider usage of the internet, became familiar with Lance and Bill’s resin kits around the turn of the century, and have been building regularly ever since...
When did you start modeling? How did you become an Indycar fan? I’m just interested to see your journey...your builds are always awesome! Tim PS: It is in the 100’s in Texas...does Barcelona fry in the summer, or is the weather pleasant? TJ

Hi Juanjo! Excellent to see another one of your builds. I enjoy your scratchbuilding, of course, but you have also done a fantastic job on Calvin's kit. Can't wait to see it finished!

Tim PS: It is in the 100’s in Texas...does Barcelona fry in the summer, or is the weather pleasant? TJ Thanks for your kind words Tim. Very much appreciate. Servia's helmets are a challenge! Indycar is not followed here, mostly F1 because there are a track near, where it runs F1 GP. I started to build models when I was 8 years old, both aircrafts and cars. My father was a modeler that built control line scale models aircraft like this 1,50 m wingspan, F4U-1D Corsair - all aluminium! He had many air races magazines '60s&'70s, with some Indianapolis 500 reports. Since then, I loved indycars, mostly '60s. At 80's I built all car kits I found here in Europe - Airfix, Matchbox, some Tamiya's ... Studies, work, marriage, son ... stopped my built career. Ten years ago, I discovered at ebay a Monogram Indy Racer, and was returned to build car models. Here in Barcelona the weather is very humid, but the temperature is only 90 F.

I live in Michigan, and "very humid" and "only 90" is stay indoors, and turn on the AC. That Corsair is fantastic!
