Good result and I really like the Janet figure to round it out. Impressive result given what you had.

This is very cool! What a great build and tribute to AJ and Janet.I didn't know the back story and is it good. Where did you get the girl Driver figure. I've got a few Janet Gutherie and Lyn St James builds coming up and a few figures would be a great addition.

Very nice Lew! What paint did you use for 'coyote orange'?

I've got a few Janet Gutherie and Lyn St James builds coming up and a few figures would be a great addition. Thanks for the kind words, Gary. The driver figure is a modified swimsuit girl from the Hasegawa racing drivers set. I "shaped" her with sandpaper taking her bust down a bit, (ouch) then reposition her arms and with milliput built up her arms, legs, then with the same method made the uniform, building it up, making the belt, collar, boots, zipper etc. Let that dry overnight and shape as necessary. I sawed her head off (holy Marie Antoinette!) and added the helmet, nothing fancy, from any AMT Indy cars from the 90's Decals are homemade on the computer.

Very nice Lew! What paint did you use for 'coyote orange'? I read somewhere that chevy engine orange is a close match to Foyt orange. That is what I use on my Foyt cars, it is spot on to my eye and is cheaper and much easier to come by than the correct color, 1964 Ford poppy red. I'm not sure about in Barcelona but here in the states it's easier. Hope that helps, my friend...

Now that's a model right there. Janet talked in her book about A.J. letting her take that car out and how wonderful it drove, and his kindness to her at a time when so many other folks were giving her grief. I really like the model and the figure of Janet next to it only makes it that much better. Well done!

Hey Lew...Thanks a million for the tips on the Driver figure. I've got a few of the Fujimi sets that I will use your technique on.
