Just flew in from Tampa and am sitting at the hotel computer. I'm looking forward to carb day tomorrow and hopefully meeting "the professor" when they run the old cars afterwards. I'm not sure what to do or where to go, but I guess I'll just go with the flow. Hoping to make it to the breakfast at Brickyard Crossing and meet Michael from Indycals. Might try to talk the wife into going to the Little 500 on Saturday night. Whatever happens - it's all good! ;D

well pat, i did take lots of pictures - over 400 in fact! my trigger finger is still sore. i've got a lot of pictures from the museum as well as some of the old cars they ran on carb day. if anybody's interested i can send them a cd of all the pics. just pm me. we arrived at the track friday to see a little of the practice and in between the museum and the old cars we watched some of the indy lites race (great finish!). i looked for the professor to no avail. hopefully we'll meet in the future. saturday we were up bright and early to meet michael of indycals fame (thanks again for the invite!) for breakfast. as we sat, we watched indy royalty arrive in the form of first aj foyt, jim nabors and ruth buzzi. when the eggs in the buffet ran out while ruth buzzi was in line, she promptly broke out in an appropriate and loud tune. when that didn't bring eggs to the table, she did a chicken dance and song and quickly made the rounds in the kitchen. soon appeared the eggs! we had the pleasure of transporting michael to the show and watched some idiot crash into another car while they were trying to park i was able to meet lance sellers, bill jorgensen, lazierfan, and harvey the dog. it's nice to put faces to names. i'm sorry i missed out on the chance to meet any of the other board members that were there. hey - maybe next year! while walking through the show, i got to see andy granatelli, and talk with mel kenyon, bob gates (author of vukovich & hurtubise), and doak ewing of rare sportsfilms. it's funny but when i got to the show and saw that it wasn't that big, i figured i'd only be there a couple hours max - well, six hours later and all my money spent (and i probably wore out bill, michael and lance's ears) it was time to head back to the hotel. we had hoped to hit a race at either anderson or irp, but ran out of energy once we made it back to the hotel and we still had to pack and get ready for the flight home sunday morning. hopefully, next year our schedule will allow us to stay for the race. all in all, we really had a blast. here's just a few photos of the trip.
