This is an idea that hit me one night at the bench. I started with another of my Hong Kong toys, Lucky Toys #3017! It was nice to have the engine cover already cut free, but I don't plan to have a completely detailed engine... I felt that the body wasn't quite long enough so I added some space to bring the wheelbase more period... I also made some simple heated plastic molds to help with the repair work... I always try different ideas so here I brought the two pieces together with interior pieces and then fill the body out with the hot molded pieces. It was no better than any other way! a simple space frame chassis works just fine and a test fit of the engine... I'm going to use the Colotti gearbox with a modified AMT Indy Ford engine... I wanted to use my nice velocity stacks so the car is fuel injected...should be Weber carbs for 1963! i then got it in my head to add spark plugs...ugh... My fav AMT Indy Lotus is my upper front suspension and a Lamborghini lower... The overall look is 1963, but I hated the white numbers and took them off... that's all for now. Patrick

This is a brilliant what-if, well thought out and period correct to the early 60s.

Well, I finally finished the Eagle Mk.631 (1963 formula 1) Coventry-Climax... ...this was so much fun...the beginning of AAR in 1963. Patrick

A very plausible 'what if'. An excellent showcase of your modeling skills as well.

Fine looking car and a nice high windscreen for the Big Eagle, too! Love the blue paint and the detail work sets it off nicely.
