I’ve read several older posts where people mention polishing metal parts with a tumbler. Do they use those small , sort of toy-like tumbler that kids use for rock polishing? I’m guessing that small car parts wouldn’t require the same gear that rock hounds use. any information about this process, the equipment etc., would be welcome. I’m not really a tool nut, but this sounds like a good way of buffing parts.

Thanks for the info Paul. The other route I’ve been thinking about is “ sandbasting” using one of those airbrush erasers. Building a small cabinet to contain the dust would be essential. Somewhere I read about an F1 build where the modeller sand lasted all the metal parts and they looked great. It might have been the F1 site you linked me to. many thanks for your response.
