Didn’t know how this would develop, but it seems like it might have some potential, so here goes: Of course, you’ll never guess what 1977 winner it will be.

Looking great Dan. I was going to guess the Gary Bettenhausen Evel Knievel car or the Gordan Johncock STP Wildcat. I only say this because from your front view the side pods are straight. In Foyt's car they were curved. I learned that lesson when building my GB car. I used a Foyt donor (curved sidepods)and had to cut them off and make them straight! LOL See below.

Thanks for the tip I had not noticed that. Dan

My name is Dan, and I’m a plasti-resin-a-holic. When making modeling choices, I often go the most diabolical route. The build I’ve begun is a poster child for this approach. Fortunately, a guardian angel from this board has made an intervention to save me from myself. Tim (alwaysindy) sent a PM “Pump the brakes” that got my attention. His offer to send me a BillJ 1977 Coyote will help me retain what little sanity is left. That kit arrived today and will become a much more accurate and satisfying model than what I had started.
Thanks Tim

Dan, are you still going to share your building process with the Bill J kit? I have that kit and anything I can learn about building it would be welcome. Thanks
John

I compare the BillJ kit to my scratch effort. My shape is not too bad, but too long and driver box not far enough forward. I’ll be doing a WIP on a new thread.
