What a great kit. Some great resin casting by Kevin Kuzmann at SilverCity Models. The parts were all cleaned up and washed. This was followed with using oven cleaner to remove the resin release. After this the parts were primed with automotive primer and sanded. Does anyone have any advice on this build? I cant find many completed kits out there that i can use as reference for the build.

I am currently building the 75 Eagle kit. Pretty much all the same parts. Probably have couple hours to go on it (problem is finding time). Only advice is to be careful with some of the cast parts. They are thin and break easily. But that’s the nature of these type castings. Let me know if I can help in any way........

Thanks for the advice.
I would love to see pictures of your build. I cant figure out what some the parts are for. Do you have instructions for the kit?

Thanks I thought there were more to the instructions and that I missed something. Any pictures of your build that you can share would be appreciated.

I didn't take pictures of my build, but here's where I am right now. Mostly need to put together main assemblies. When I look at your parts spread out in your first image, I maybe see some concerns. First, there are only 2 brake rotors, unless you purposely omitted. Look in the box and bags again. Also, not sure due to clarity of your image but the two front spindle hubs kind of look the same. Need to be right and left (mirror images). i.imgur.com/ojthTLq.jpg

Sorry, I didn't attach image correctly. Part of the reason I don't take or display images. Hope this works. imgur.com/ojthTLq

Thanks for the picture - I just looked and you are correct I only got 2 of the brake roters but i did get 2 turbos, 4 roll bars, 2 exhausts. Did yours look similar or did I get a random bag?
Would you take a closer picture of your engine? I am already seeing some parts on yours that I had questions about where they go.
Thanks for the help!

Yes, I got lots of extra parts, what you use will depend on the Eagle version you're building. But for sure you need 4 rotors.

I built my '73 Indy 500-winning Eagle last year from the Silver City kit and found it a very enjoyable build. I downloaded and printed the PDF of the instructions and went through them many times, both before and during the build. If you have references for the actual car you're building, that also helps a lot. I strongly recommend lots of test-fitting without glue before assembly. This will help you get the hang of how things are supposed to go together. Many parts with mounting pins will hold in place just fine without glue - that's how well-engineered this kit is. You'll be amazed by how solidly the engine clicks into place. One more tip is to do an inventory of the kit and make sure you have everything. My Eagle was missing a couple parts but Kevin cheerfully sent along what I needed when I let him know. The white metal parts will polish *very* nicely if there are areas that need to be bright silver. With this kit, it's not difficult at all to get very happy results. Here's how mine turned out, and I hope it'll inspire you. Note how nicely the white metal parts on the engine will polish out: To me this kit is one where the challenges are in painting and finishing, not in assembly. It was a pleasure to build and I sometimes have the urge to get another one just because it was that much fun. Good luck with yours, and have fun! Jodie Peeler

Jodie thanks for the post. Appreciate the tips and pictures as those help tie a couple of parts together in my mind.
TTOCS - no problem - I didnt notice but you are correct that they are in fact there for the rear.
I will try and post progress pictures tonight.

Quick update... First it was great to meet everyone at the 500 Memorabilia show. It was great to see so many people there and I hope business was good for the vendors that made the trip. It was very helpful for me to see the built kits and be able to take pictures so I can finish this, and the other kits that are stacking up. I am trying to get this one done now that the body work is done. You can see a little cleanup is required but now its just a matter of final assembly.
