I happen to be looking at the IMS website and came across this. Perhaps its just an old pic they used and didn't update. My understanding was the center wicker was gone. But as you can plainly see, its there. Never mind. I just noticed the " pre production" noting. First day with the new eyes.

All torn down. Thanks to those that have shared their wisdom and experience, i appreciate it. With what i have learned this car will be better. I would like to add some radiators, seatbelts and a Penske steering wheel. Think i can find the belts- the steering wheel and rads, not so much. Next is stripping the paint and preping the body. Tamiya fine grey primer has been ordered.

If there is interest in steering wheels, I might try to do it in 3D. Chris Jerina did the previous generation Penske wheel so he might be doing the 2018+ update, I dunno.....

Paint stripped. A bit of love and it will be primer time.

I got mine apart, stripped and ready for something old, something new.
One thing that everyone should know. Greenlight engineered how the front wheels mount. Carefully pop off the center cap and instead of a rivet that needs to be heated up to be removed, it is now held on by a Phillips head screw.

I have one on pre-order that hasn't arrived yet... anyone want to suggest how to go about mounting a road-course front wing? Open to thoughts, as it seems its going to require cutting the original front wing and finding a way to mount without a screw-hole.
My preliminary thought is to require a cut on the undertray and let the 3D part fit the gap left by cutting the plastic undertray.

I haven't looked that far ahead Chris but I take it you have the 3D wings available?

I haven't looked that far ahead Chris but I take it you have the 3D wings available? It would be hard to make them available when I don't know how to mount them. Planning stages so far. The drawing part doesn't take that long.

Jordan Well in the grand scheme of things, the mounting/mainplane are the most annoying parts, but the mainplane should be the same as the previous cars. Leaving only the flap and endplates to do with the mounting.

Davison? Shame about his rough year, he was so dynamic last year and I was hoping for more this year with the speed that the Foyt cars had.
The red looks nice and I cannot wait to see what you do with this one. Very nice job on the cockpit, too!

Found some casting low areas. Both sides of the main body had casting rough spots. Also along the side of the tub and forward towards the front wing, both sides. Just under neath where the rear kickers start, both sides had uneven area on the main body. The next area was low along the tub sides and ran all the way to the front wings basically. Final prep before a vinegar bath and then primer coat and see what it does. Figured out a way to add side air intakes. ( by the rads) The engine vents need a lil help. Alclad?

The engine vents need a lil help. Alclad? Alcad chrome? Helio's car had ( atleast appearing) chrome engine vents. If i can find a better pic ( would be nice) of them i would know if they were chrome or stainless. Atleast this pic gives you some idea.

As good as you could want. They look polished metal. I did find a Youtube onboard video and i find it inconclusive. Hard to tell from the angle. Thank's for finding that one.

According to Toronto motorsports the GL Wickens car is only 402 peices. The red chrome would be hard to replicate.

I have noticed this year that the shock cover looks to have changed. Noticed it over and over again this year but see Greenlight did not get that on this car.
