Gary, With winter almost here, the perfect time to start a new road racing build. Joel
I hear you on that Joel. Right now...I'm in the middle of building Tim Richmonds PC7 Indycar. I will post finished pics as the PC7 has been built by a few folks on this board already. I don't want to beat a GOOD HORSE to death. But...this (hopefully) will be finished within the next month and I want to build another Capri. This one will be a full detail build...
Gary, I'm certainly looking forward to your PC7 pictures, as well as the build thread for a fully detailed Capri. One thing you mentioned which is rather new to me, is not duplicating similar previous builds unless there is more detail added, a different variant, or a different way to construct the build, and or issues. Coming from the Military modeler world, repetition of the same subject and difficulty level happened all the time, rather then doing just a ready for inspection or a few build updates so the members knew what you were currently building. Is there a way to figure out what was already built that's similar to what I'm working on? Right now I just started the Fujimi 1/24 scale Ferrari 330 P4 (P415 as Mike from IndyCals has pointed out), and wouldn't want to post a full build thread if it's been done a few times before. Joel

Hey Joel...GO FOR IT! I don't think it's been done here in a long time...or maybe not at all. I did a search Misc. models section and didn't come up with any. You can ask INDY or Patrick(among just a few) here on the Forum. they for sure would know. That car is one of the cars on my to build (long list) also..(waaaay down the line)...LOL
On the build I'm doing now.... at least three maybe four other members have done the PC7. The big difference in mine is the driver.....and maybe a few different building techniques. But...the end results are the same..just a different paint scheme.

Gary, Will do. but I barely have enough done for any kind of update as yet. Being a racing site dedicated to open wheel racing, I've mentioned it before if there is a possibility of creating a separate section for all other types of cars, and leave the original forum for everything else. I think that would make it easier for members to find other builds of race and classic cars that don't fit into the two main forum sections. Joel

Joel Joel...I think the Miscellaneous section is set up for that....at least that's were everyone has been putting everything other that open wheel builds. It's been working fine. If you want a complete board for sports cars and other road course cars...you have to talk to INDY( PM him) here on the forum. He can let you know more about that subject than I can.

Gary, What I was thinking about in the is in the F5000 & Other Open Wheel racers forum , there is the Misc section that I posted my Porsche 917K in, but that section is for everything under the sun that we might build, whether or not auto racing related or not. That really makes little sense when you think about it. Like Misc. Other Open Wheel Racers, have a section for all closed wheel racers, and leave the current Misc section for everything else. Would make it easier to follow a build, or see other types and classes of auto racing. I'll PM Indy with my thoughts. Joel

Not sure how I missed the final build photos but wow this thing looks great all finished up. Very nice work.
I never bore of WIPs so if you want to post them, I am sure there will be a great full audience. If you need help with placing a build then feel free to ask a moderator or admin.

As usual, a great build. Thanks for sharing the process, I picked up some tips along the way.
