Returning to this hobby after years (decades) away has brought both new pleasure, but also some frustrations. A couple of new projects I am getting into having me searching through old spare parts that I had, for some strange reason held on to. As I am finding possible uses for them I am running into a challenge of how to dissolve well dried glue.
I have tried soaking the parts in warm - hot water with Dawn detergent. While I have had some success with this, (and the unexpected result of chrome plated parts shedding their coating) I still have some pieces I simply can't get apart without potentially breaking. Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks,Rex

I assume you are talking about the old tube glue, Rex. If so, try putting the parts in the freezer overnight. If you are trying to separate parts, freeze them in water (like a big icecube). Good Luck.

Get a can of Easy Lift Off made by Testors. Soak overnight and all your troubles will come apart. Will even take off old unwanted paint. Pour it in an old plastic container. (Tuperware, etc.) Strain it after you soak the parts and re-use it again.
