I'm trying to strip the paint on a resin body. Oven cleaner dissolved the Tamiya color coats, but, other than some cracking and blistering, hasn't removed the Alclad primer coat. I've heard of brake fluid being used as a paint stripper, but I'm concerned that it may damage the resin. Any recommendations?

I normally use lacquer thinner when I have to strip off a resin body, the paint just wipes right off

Do you soak it or just wipe it on?

Is the primer a 2K? If it is I'm thinking lacquer thinner won't do the trick but if it's 1K then soaking should. You can also try acetone. But let Dustin answer as he has used the lacquer thinner.

I put some in a pan and swish the car around a little then wipe it off with a rag. Then straight to the sink to wash with Dawn, it leaves the car a little sticky if not. I’ve also never used Alclad primer, usually Tamiya.
