Attempting to make the exhaust heat bracing for the Honda rear suspension. Fernando's is lighter in pics. Takuma's seems to be darker. Final details for Takuma to get signed @ St.Pete. I managed to drop the figurine and break both fingers on it. Now i have to present it for signing broken. Application is Bare metal foil matte. Purchased from Amazon, it was old. I used some Tamiya thin cement to anchor them. Some testors wash thrown on to darken them up. Semi -happy with the results. As always , thoughts- comments , idea's welcome.

The produce container tip is a nice one. Cutting out a windsheild is not as easy as i first thought. Thats my current challenge. The top of 1 pound strawberry container has alot of potential material. Cutting it to mount is not as easy. I think i know what to use to mount it, i just havent found a way to cut it effectively so it will look correct.

I am probably stating the obvious but I make patterns out of paper or index cards. This allows me to test fit, adjust, cut and test fit again until I get the shape that looks good. I then tape (transparent tape) the pattern to the plastic and trace around it. Along with straight scissors I use cuticle scissors which are usually curved. This helps in some of the difficult places. Hope this helps. Good luck. Jim

Sometimes the best answers are the most simple. I didnt think of an index card. Thank you for a direction. Also thanks about the tape idea. Here is another reason i joined. I learn something literally almost every time i log on. Experience is a great teacher. Sharing is a gift. Thank you.

Nice detailing. Really adds to the piece. As for your Sato figure, you could move the fingers to the center of the hand and turn him into a Will Power figure. I dropped my Rossi figure off my desk. He shattered. Helmet, both arms and legs broke off. It's the most brittle resin I've encountered.

After seeing Harveythedog's figures, i have added that to my to do lists. I bet his isnt so fragile.Thank you for the compliment. I am learning and enjoying everything on this board. A perfect example is enjoying your 2 seater. The black is perfect. I also thought you seemed it so well. Very nice peice ( especially having the experience) to remember it. I am going to keep trying to make my cars look like the real ones. I need to learn to deal with the tire mold lines. It lets the cars down. Thanks agin for posting your car. I was looking forward to seeing it done and you did a really nice job!

Figure signed in English. Car was signed in Japanese. I didnt get the windsheild done, but a future looking surgery is probably going to set my summer in doors so i will have time. Luck has not been with this car. As i took it out of the box on pit lane i managed to break the camera pod off of it. I thought i wouldn't find it. I was lucky. Figurine. Cam pod. What else with this car? It garnered a comment from one of the RLL telemetry guys. " That one got some work" was said. " If i dont break it before it goes back in the box" was the reply. Ill get the windsheild.
