If you do go to the Millers, make sure you visit Model Empire in West Allis (thats where the Milwaukee Mile is). One of the best model stores I've been in.

The Miller event is fantastic. If you can make sure you get to this event and bring your camera! You can get up close and personal with all of the cars, great detail shots, on track photos....and you don't have to dream about what these cars used to sound like. I've been to 3 times and each year there has been new cars. I even got to ride in the 1934 Studebaker 2 man indy car....we were passed by Augie Pabst driving the early Novi....I damned near soiled myself....there is no sound that can compare to a Novi! Model Empire is a nice diversion.....but Scale Model Supplies in St. Paul, MN is perhaps the best hobby shop around.....hundreds of old kits for sale....and thousands of new ones.

I'll be there, i've only missed one. More than likely i'll be crewing for Bud Taylor on his Foyt replica and helping Larry Pfiztenmeier on his Rathmann car as well just like last year. It's a great show altho' i'd like it better if they would allow early rear engines in as well. A couple of years ago they turned away the guy from Brownsburg, i think, who had Herk's Mallards, told him the cars were too new !!!!!!!

I didn't think the Mallards were in running condition....they used to be in the now defunct Ernie Evans muesum but I did not think either of them ran. The "Miller Beer" mallard was a complete reproduction I believe and I don't think it had an offy in it.

thanks for all the feedback guys! i'm making my reservations soon - i think my wife wants to get rid of me for a while anyway. hey arcarace, i'll be looking for you at bud taylor's car. i met him at darlington last year and he was one of the nicest guys there that i talked to. AND if i get to hear a novi run, that will fulfill a lifelong ambition for me! wow, indy and milwaukee in the same year! i must be dreaming! duane
