Hello, not new to modelling or open wheel racing. I came here to check on modelling tonight and find this site updated and pretty nice and straightforward for Indy car modelling. I started modelling when I was 8, dad bought an AMT kit and helped me assemble it. That was back in 1966 or 67. I will spend some time browsing the site more, although what enticed me to register is the Dan Gurney model thread. I posted my MPC Eagle there, which I built maybe 5 or 6 years ago. I was fortunate enough to spend an evening with Dan, his wife and son, and shared a limo ride back to the hotel in New York. He was as you all know, such an open and gracious man. We shared very similar stories and anecdotes, and kept in touch through the years. Have a great Christmas card explaining the BLAT car was his favorite Eagle too, and that "when you see the Delta Wing, you will see some familiar concepts".
Anyway hope to get some good advice and share similar stories and anecdotes with you guys too....
Steve

Welcome to the forum, Steve. I can't think of a better place to get model-building advise or get an answer to the most obscure question about open-wheel racing than this place. Friendliest and most knowledgeable people on the planet, in one convenient location! Great to have you here.

Hey guys thanks for the welcome. I have posted some of my cars on other forums, so may have seen them at F1modelers and Scale Auto, but if not, do you guys like finished photos, and not build photos? Or kind of After the fact builds? I normally do out of the box builds, mostly.
I had a blast going through the Lotus Offy thread, and I must say, I thought I know a lot about Indy, but didn't remember this car... Great modeling and Indy history in one thread. Super.
Can't wait for May.
