I've been working on this IMSA resin conversion kit for the Hasegawa Group C World Sportscar kits. It's going to come with the following: -IMSA ground effect tunnels -high induction scoop (The basic version) -NACA Duct for the roof -Resin tires -BBS wheels -Side exhaust block off plates Hasegawa has reissued their 962C kits recently. I prefer the Hasegawa 962 kits over the Tamiya 962....The Hasegawa is better suited for an IMSA 962. As you can see the Group C. 962 has a less of aggressive ground effect tunnels. The IMSA 962 has a more aggressive ground effect tunnels and a rear single exhaust. Im still trying to chase the shape of the high induction scoop....there was SO many different shapes of these that I'm basically trying to get something reasonably close and can be slightly adjusted by the builder. I'm still trying to understand the detailed shape and any good pictures would be greatly appreciated I'm still adjusting the resin conversion to this kit. I have another kit coming so I can use to make detailed instructions with and build up from a normal building routine

Good start Calvin. There are so many variations of the intercooler scoop! I think the generic approach you are using is the best. Glad to see this taking shape. I'll buy a couple.
I won't rant about how horribly misshapen the cockpit of the Hasegawa is.

Thanks! My goal is to make the IMSA Porsche 962 market easier for builders. I love IMSA GTP and it's almost impossible to find or build anything from the greatest form and era in sportscar racing. I'm trying to make this a reasonably priced conversion kit, so it's going to be just touching on the MAJOR differences...I could go on, and on, and on with changes, and before you know it, Id have a full-blown resin kit, and I DONT want to do that....the main goal is to make a cheap resin conversion for the plastic kits, because at the end of the day, people prefer to work with normal plastic and want something in a reasonable price range. BTW.... IMSA 962 decals will magically appear, eventually.

This is great. I've been wanting to do the IMSA GTP Lowenbrau car for years. Calvin, I agree, that era was really special. Thanks for doing this.

It's something I've been wanting to do for years, but with no decal hope, it wasn't a reality. But things have worked out now! Btw, my first build with this conversion kit, will be the Lowënbraü Porsche. I'm a big fan of Al Holbert. I'm really working at making this kit, very builder friendly and reasonably priced.

Calvin: Is the old saying “ great minds think alike?” Or is it “crazy people think alike?” I have had this for 10 years or so and lost the decals in The Great Flood...saw a Cady set with side color on EBay 3 weeks ago and said “that should make it easy”... We shall see... Tim

Calvin: Is the old saying “ great minds think alike?” Or is it “crazy people think alike?” LOL! You have the great mind, but I know im just flat crazy! Those M & S hobbies IMSA 962 kits are almost impossible to find anymore. They are very well shaped. and I plan on using the Lowenbrau decal sheet from Indycals that will be coming soon.

Beautiful car and a great job with it. If I didn't already have the excellent M&S Hobbies trans-kit in the stack, I'd be all over your conversion. I was a huge fan of Holbert and saw this car a number of times racing at Riverside and Del Mar. Until the end, it was always the car to beat. MJ

I think I saw that Hasagawa is going to rerelease one of the kits later on this year. Price will certainly be more reasonable.
