The last two models I did of the 1946 Novi and of the 1946 Indy winner had metal clips to hold on the windshield. I represent this I cut a small, thin strip (1/32) of masking tape and painted it silver. I then cut it into smaller pieces that I could attach to the windshield and car. Not great but worked for me. I attached the ends of the windshield with small diameter silver sewing pins from Hobby Lobby. Just drilled a hole (1/72) through the windshield and into the body and super glued the pin in place. After everything has set, I have sometimes clipped the head off of the sewing pin leaving just the post in place. Jim

Better idea than masking tape - aluminum duct tape (ie, for furnace ducts). It's basically like bare metal foil, only much thicker.

That's a good idea, Michael. I will need to look at it. When I have worked with it around the house, it seemed pretty shiny. The clips in the photos seemed to show the metal as dull. Thanks.

Scuff the tape with fine sandpaper (maybe 600-800 grit) or really fine steel wool before cutting to dull the finish.

Golf shops sell a self adhesive lead material for weighting golf clubs that can be polished to get finish that you want.Doubles real well as wheel balance weights too!
