Here are 2 cars that I bought from MA Scale Models.
First the good stuff. Decals are from Michael which are excellent. These kits are an improvement over some of his older kits, Body shape is good, wheels and tires are much better.
Now the had stuff. First I had to do a lot of sanding to fit the body to the chassis. This is a must before doing anything else. Tbhe suspension parts are to big in my opinion. On the Hunter Rhey car I did all of the suspension pieces myself, I cut too much on the front of the body and learned from that mistakes. On the Franchitti car, I used his suspension parts except from the upper wishbones on the front of the car, I scratch built those.
Another problem is how the wheels connect to the chassis. I fixed this by drilling through the connecting pieces and adding axles which worked a lot better.
I had to shortened the rear wing as it is too wide.
Overall, I was pleased with these cars.

Nice to see you building again, Terry. I think you did a good job on fixing the issues. I did not even realize MA offered DW12 kits, good to know. Do you have a favorite of the two builds? I like the RHR one but that's just me Looking forward to that Penske in the background. Is that one of Helio's first two wins? Jordan

Nice work. I'm not sure I would have stuck it out through all the issues on those kits. My hats off to your perseverance.

Actually I'm building both of his first 2 wins. I can never just work on 1 project at a time.

Yes, they look great. Glad to see some "newer" version 1/43 IndyCars being available. I have ordered from MA Models in the past and found the kits to be just as your description. For me, that is certainly good enough quality as it is more important to have the subject matter than nothing at all at 1/43rd size kits. When I saw this post, I promptly went over to their site and ordered the Dario car. Thanks.

Great job Terry! MA kits are challenging, but for some subjects, they are the only game in town. Is that a Penske Dallara I see in the background? If so, it looks so much better being built than sitting in the box on my shelf

Hadn't noticed this thread before, or that MA had produced those kits. Really nice work on those. I've built one of his Can-Am Shadows and it wasn't too bad. Need to build the Parker Johnston Camel Lights Acura one of these days. Again, good job.
