I recently finished Gary Doucette's model of the 1956 Schmidt Brothers Kuzma. Gary included a pre-cut piece of wire to serve as the hinge for the hood. It was just the right size and length. Duh! Where did he get this since it was a straight piece not an unwound piece or a straightened paper clip? I should have looked sooner having made these in years past from all sorts of things; none of which looked right. Enter Hobby Lobby. In their model section they sell a package labeled "Music Wire" with "Metal Shapes" running down the left side. It contains four 12" pieces of .032 silver wire all for a total of $1.29. I can't wait to cut a piece for the 1946 Novi sitting on my work space or to retrofit some of the cars I have messed up. Good luck. Jim

Great tip, Jim. Perfect for the Old Calhoun roadster I'm working on now.
Thanks!
