I just received in the mail today 4 Decals: 72 Olsonite, 73 Sunoco, and 79 81 Norton spirit from Michael that really look great! thanks Michael
But Does anyone know what the best Blue Tamiya spray can I can use for 1973 Sunoco Mclaren and Norton spirit cars?
I also assume that the 1972 Olisonite eagle is normal Tamiya white?

I found the anwser for Sunoco blue, TS15 Yes. Tamiya TS26 white for the 72 Eagle. 81 Norton Spirit I would use TS44 For the 79... I haven't figured that out. That car always has a muted/greyish look to the blue to my eye.

BTW... I'm looking forward to seeing pics of the 73 Sunoco car. Every picture I've seen of it, it looks black, and I'd like to see a picture of it where it was clearly blue. I asked Chuck Sprague at Penske and he assured me it was never black. Here's what he had to say: There were several shades of "Sunoco Blue", and the debate rages on within the vintage racing ranks. The later cars (1970 and onwards were basically navy blue, while the earlier cars were closer to a royal blue.

Thanks for the info.....Im actually working on the 73 Sunoco-DX McLaren right now... Im currently tying to make a wind screen out of thinner plastic, im having a heck of a time with that . I already went to the hobby store to pick up the TS15 blue and some TS8 Italian red for the highlights on the car which I think is the correct red? Once I get going on it some more I will post a new thread on how its coming...
