This is really a spectacular build. I think making it into a diorama on some old infield grass n dirt would be a fitting display. In a case of course too. Nice work again. Mike Thank you Mike. The inspiration behind the build is from when I was in my late teen yrs...driving down the highway with my father and coming up on a rig like this. Also seeing them come into the back gate(pit gate) for the OPEN COMP Races. I've thought about both versions as a DIO. I think the back gate thing would be pretty cool. Gary, incredible job on the dirt car, trailer and hauler. Like you I miss the days of catching up to or being passed by a hauler with an open trailer and a race car sitting on it. I think Hal La Tulip racing an Oswego supermodified is the last one using an open trailer at that track. Always thought the speedway should pop for a sign on the back saying "Follow Me To Oswego Speedway". For it kid it was exciting and honestly it still catches my attention. I read a story about Oswego years ago with kids sitting on the bridge in town on race day watching all the supers go by. Really enjoyed your build, thanks for the story. Murray

Hey Michael and Sandy...thank you for the great compliment guys...it means a lot.
Man Murray...First off...thank you for the compliment. I really miss those days too. When I look at this team it sure brings back those cool feelings that I had back then. I can still hear that trailer creaking and bouncing just a little as it moved past me in the pits. That is a memory that's in the brain forever. I think folks like you and me and probably 99% of the members here have experienced that.
When I started this build...that was my goal. To bring back those great feelings and memories. Now...to try and get the SMELLS from the cars.... in scale. lol

Words cannot describe this build, It is beyond them. If you put that on the road with a scenic back drop I swear you could not tell the difference from model to real. A lot of hard work and hours on this one for sure but well worth it.

That is an incredible build! It doesn't bring back memories for just you, it's stirred memories for all of us. This sets a new bar for scratch building, perseverance, problem solving, and creativity! Your skill as a photographer aren't too shabby, either!

A lot of hard work and hours on this one for sure but well worth it. Thanks indy 22. I'm thinking about using that very shelf board that it's sitting on to do a back gate dio. Still in the thought process... That is an incredible build! It doesn't bring back memories for just you, it's stirred memories for all of us. This sets a new bar for scratch building, perseverance, problem solving, and creativity! Your skill as a photographer aren't too shabby, either! --Frank Thank you Frank, for the kind words. I knew if this team build gave me that really cool feeling at watching a team pull into the pits back then...it might do the same for other folks. To me...this is what building in scale is about...being able to share and evoke positive and sincere feelings of the past. To me...there's no better satisfaction than that.

Gary: This has been fun...the craftsmanship is off the charts...this has to be one of the top WIP’s of all time...every detail is spot on...this is one of those builds that needs to be in a museum somewhere... Tim

AlwaysIndy is right on. It belongs in a museum. Its been a build that is one you see in how to book. I joined around when he had about half the camper or so done. One thing i am learning from him is patience. I would have probably pushed to hard and made a mistake, not to mention having the experience as well to do it soooo smoothly. Belongs in a museum.
Pick one. It's any museum quality.

Now you're just showing off. There's nothing I can add to the prior comments. The bar has been set.

I'm not even sure if there is a good enough word in the English language to describe how good this build is.
