Hey Guys
Just wanted to share given I do not do Faceache or anything. And I know it ain't Open wheelers. BUT.
Just done four days, with two late nights and an all nighter at the Spa 24 hours.
I am now at a friend's place near Brussels having a ciggie in the garden and it is oh so quiet.
In my mind's eye I still see those cars sparking their way up Eau Rouge and Radillion in the dark. I can still see their headlights piercing the darkness on the unlit run down thru Pouhon and their roar bouncing off the hillside at Blanchimont.
Done Daytona Rolex 24 for the last three years but this was something. Going over to Austin for the F1 but almost wish I was going to Road Atlanta.
Experienced a great event for the first time and came away knowing exactly why I love this sport so much.

You lucky dog! Attending one of the European 24 hour endurance races is on my bucket list. My 1st choice would be Le Mans, but Spa or Nurburgring almost as desireable. I was stationed in Germany for 21 months when I was in the army in the 1970s and only managed to make it to a club level race at Hockenheim.

I'm glad you had a great time and I know that "it's over, but" feeling well. From 2005 to 2009 we went to the Rolex 24 each year. There's all the difference between seeing it on television and actually experiencing just what a sensory experience it is. My favorite memory remains coming back to the Speedway mid-evening, after dinner, as the sun was going down, walking along the frontstretch to go up to our seats, with those cars thundering past only a few feet from us. Not only a sight to see, not only incredibly loud even through earplugs, but the way the disturbed air and the incredible sound would physically hammer you. We quit going for various reasons and are now content to watch the broadcast each year, but I wouldn't trade my memories of being there, or the pictures we took there, for anything. And to this day I can still hear the thunder of the prototypes, the rev limiters getting hit, and the distinct whine of the RX-8s' rotary engines. We keep talking about going to Le Mans some year, but first I have to get that job as a millionaire if we're gonna do it right. Jodie Peeler
