I am working on a 1/43rd scale model of the 1981 and 1982 Interscope IP2 Indy Cars and got to thinking about the whereabouts of the 1982 car. The 1981 car was totally destroyed in Danny Ongais' horrific accident, of course, but the team built a new chassis for the 1982 race. Danny crashed again in the 1982 race, but the car sustained much less damage and looked very repairable in the post-race photos I have been able to find. So my question is: was the car ever repaired (I know it never raced again), and if it was repaired, does anybody know where it is at these days?

The truth is out there! Fox Mulder Indeed it is! I asked the same question in a Facebook group about 80s Indy Cars, and a gentleman with knowledge on the matter reported that the surviving Interscope was transformed into the Rattlesnake that Michael Chandler drove at Indy and Michigan in 1983. The Rattlesnake was also designed by Roman Slobodynskij, but it lacked the grace of the Interscope IMO. The Rattlesnake's whereabouts these days are anybody's guess... Bo

Lance did this kit a while back. I bought one to build for a friend and I'm still kicking myself for not getting one for myself. DOH!

I'll keep an eye on it. I know the seller and I want him to get all he can for it, but I have my own monetary limits. Thanks for the heads up Paul
