I absolutely love the new rendition of the 2018 Dallara Indy car. I hope they stay true to the design as it harkens back to the days when an Indy car looked like an Indy car. With that said, I am getting early start on making a body for my 1/64 slots. I started with one of my Reynards and sanded the basic engine cowling shapes. This is the initial stages of getting the basic form before I add clay and then make the first mold for a resin cast.     . |

Thanks Terry!!! Getting it a little closer for it's maiden mold. I think I was able to get the symmetry close for both sides. It doesn't look as chubby in person as it does in the photos.    . |

You can stuff all the slot car running gear into a 1/64th Indycar body without the car being chubby?

Once casted I started to task of sanding to scale. Here you can see the left sidepod and rear wheel winglets shaped to where I want them. Will try to get the right side to match tonight. Sits nice and low too!    . |

Here is the finished product. This is my 1/64th scale version of the 2018 Dallara Indy car. It is resin and sitting on a AFX Mega-G slot car chassis. And it runs too....lol.    . |
