Good evening everyone,
Looking for some help.
A, when did CART start using the device? B, which tracks were they used on? C, was it standard for all tracks? D, has anyone made one for 1/25 cars?
Thank you everyone for any help on this, Don

It was used for Super Speedway races like Michigan and Fontana. It's basically a straight piece that attached to the rear wing to cause drag and allowed the car behind to draft the car in front. Some of the best and most exciting edge of your seat racing I have ever seen. Just go on You Tube and watch some of the races at Michigan (MIS)to see what I mean.

A, when did CART start using the device? 1998-2002. They were going to use it at Fontana in 2003 but the round was canceled due to forest fires. I do not believe ChampCar ever went back to a 2 mile or bigger oval in 2004-2007. B, which tracks were they used on? C, was it standard for all tracks? Michigan and Fontana exclusively D, has anyone made one for 1/25 cars? Some just put a piece of plastic on the end of the rear wing but that does not really capture the shape. There is some other good information on point here: mb2501.proboards.com/thread/6079/first-3dI have the base wing that I can get printed in 3D that is right and it covers both regulations for the specifications of Handford Device (MkI). I have not drawn the wing supports yet. I have been kicking around the idea of selling the 3D parts that I have drawn. But Shapeways changed their prices about a month ago so I need to reassess everything. Some of the smaller parts will need to be drawn with sprue to keep costs down. Which was part of my delay in responding to your PM, Don. It would be helpful to know what interest there is out for the Handford Device in 1/25 and 1/18. Jordan
