Here is another recent build from the box (mostly) of a 1/20 Revival (metal body) factory F-1 racer. My additions include: - changed decals to represent one found in the factory photos. - full detail paint (inside of car). - added brake lines - added brake master cylinder - added copper fuel lines and fuel bowl - replaced carb stacks with more scale appropriate and scratch built wire screens - replaced rubber ignition lines with real metal tube and solder as originals did not look correct. The red was the factory Revival paint and was done nice on this one. Funny though as this was my third Revival kit that was missing the clear windshield . I used clear plastic cut to scale based on photos. Overall a really fun build, I hope you all like it:

Very nice build! I have this kit to build. Anything I should be aware of? I also have the Maserati 250 kit--have you built that one.

Kip, This is a real straight forward kit. I believe the key is thoroughly de-seaming the white metal parts and test fitting everything. You will spend more time doing that than you will assembling it. Also make sure you have a very small screw driver appropriate for the kit. I was anticipating some difficulty when screwing the lower body / chassis, and upper body together but it was not bad at all on this one. I was also worried in getting the tires over the metal inner liners, but my kits tires were playable and went on with just a little effort. Overall I had no trouble putting this together and the Maserati is very similar. The most difficult kits made by Revival are the 37 Mercedes and the Auto Union. They both have several challenges. Duane, They actually engineered the real car with the angled engine to get a lower position for the driver. Back then aero was still a new science, so they thought the lower center of weight and profile would aide in handling and top speed. They did not continue with it after this car so it must not have been much of an advantage. The drive shaft and rear dif. look kind of weird in this set-up too. Thanks guys for the comments.... [

Very impressive. Great looking build of a very iconic Ferrari. Thanks for answering the angled engine question, I wondered that myself looking at your build pictures.
