Here is a car I recently built (a couple months ago). It started as a fun build but quickly went into a labor of pain. The wheels were dry rot / cracked and split. It was missing several metal parts from the front and rear suspension that had to be scratch built. many parts did not fit properly even after extensive de-deaming, shaping, etc. The decals were also aged beyond their use. Normally the paint on 1/20 Revivals pre-finished bodies is nice, but this paint was also pitted, had bubbles, and many other imperfections. No wonder I got the kit for a good price on "Evil-Bay". On three occasions I nearly quit the project, but I have never let a kit beat me into submission. I have built several other Revivals, and enjoyed every minute but this one had its problems. Here are some of the "work -in-progress" and finished photos.

Very nice! What wash(?) did you use to highlight the vents?

Great job, I really like the last picture - it shows off all your hard work. Thanks for sharing and sticking with this one.

Clean result from a really abysmal (fit and authenticity) kit!

Rob, The wash in the vents was actually a extra fine tip permanent marker (big smile)....
The biggest challenge was assembling the dry-rot tires. I ended up super gluing the pieces back together and then cutting them through the center of the tread pattern to get them over the wire rim insert. Afterward I superglued the halves back together, sander them down, painted them flat black to hide the seams....
Thanks everyone for the kind remarks....

This is beautiful, you overcame a lot to come up with a striking build.

Those old Casadio die cast kits were a bit of a challenge back in the day. Did the Merc ever emerge in plastic as part of the Revivals?

I have never seen this kit in the lower plastic grade.
