I'm probably crazy, but I'm thiniking about seeing what I can do with this: I see my main problems (aside from the glass, which I think I can get away with with clear acetate) are a missing headlight housing and mirrors. Wish me luck!

I think it needs a Sir Jackie Stewart figure in it.

Love it. Nice job!!! Back in 1980 I'm came very close to buying one of the replica...Feel sorry now. I actually did buy one and I wasn't even in the market for a new car at the time! Was driving home from a ski trip late one night and the local Ford dealer had 3 of them lined up right out front. Had no interest in a Mustang up until that moment. Went back the next day to look at them and test drove a 4cyl turbo. I don't remember how many were turbo and how many were V8 but the story was that they were Ford Executive cars from an event. They each had like 7 miles on them. Told the salesman right up front I didn't think that I could afford one. He wrote a number on the back of a business card and immediately covered it with his hand. "What do you think you can buy that car for?" he said. I hesitantly named a price that I thought was lower than they could possibly meet. He pulled his hand off the card, his number was lower than mine and all I said was "write it up". Four years later when I saw something new that I wanted more than the Mustang I traded it in and it never even made it onto the lot. A mechanic snapped it up instantly. I've missed that car over the years. BTW the pace car lettering was optional. It was in all the cars on the lot but not applied unless the customer requested it. Mine was still in the wrap when I traded it in.

Very fun story. An old coworker had one and it also had the lettering still un-applied. He loved that car

I was still IN the car having just pulled in next to her in a 7-11 parking lot. She managed to scrape part-way along the side of my car before getting her bumper lodged in my back wheel-well. Luckily she stopped and her boyfriend and I and maybe a couple of bystanders lifted my car off and away before she did more damage. They had to paint the entire side of the car to get the pewter metallic to match properly. Her insurance company actually had the nerve to say that I was partially at fault. Shot them down pretty harshly on that pathetic attempt at not paying the full amount.

To me...they are legalized thieves.

I was young - it was my first new car and my first time dealing with someone else's insurance company. I guess I figured out pretty quickly that it was a scam: the adjuster has a pool of money and probably gets rated / bonus money for not paying out a dime more than they have to. So, in effect, if he could intimidate someone like me into settling for half he was ahead of the game but I wasn't having it. Man was I upset about that happening to my pride and joy... had some real good times in that car...
