Just as Josef Newgarden gets his first win for Penske, I was finally able to move these two off of my work bench and onto the display shelves. The Dollar General Car was Newgarden's Rookie car at indy in 2012 and the Angie's List car ran at Sonoma in 2012 before getting stuffed into the Tire Barrier with the help of Bourdais.
The Dollar General car has been on my bench for almost two years and was a STRUGGLE. Whether it was snapping a mirror off, breaking a speedway wing, or messing up the paint over and over again, I am glad to finally put this thing to bed.
Both sets of Decals came from Gary at GWS. The paint was an interesting challenge to try to match. Finally settled on Rustoleum's John Deere Yellow match for the DG car and Duplicolor's Engine Enamel with Ceramic for the Angie's List. Special assistance to my Fiancee for the silver trim. I don't have the steady hand she does to do those lines right...
