Fabulous job, Stu. Great touch with the details and figure. Is the cover by the rollbar in the reference picture just for when the turbine was not running?
A great tribute to a real champion that was lost way too soon!

Great job on that one. I have a theory on the upside down sticker. May be others can join in on this. I would think that may be the cowling was in the shop off of the car laying on the floor upside down when they put the sicker on it was right side up but when they flipped it over to put it on the car it of course was upside down and being a test car they probably thought no big deal just leave it for now. That's my 2 cents worth any one else have a theory.

Gotta like anything that Jimmy Clark drove! I think you're right on the upside down STP sticker: it would really be hard to tell top from bottom if the panel was lying on the bench! Wasn't the reversed 44 on Tullius' Jaguar an error that proved to be too lucky to change? --Frank

Really nice, brings back memories. Just think what a super team they would have had with Jimmy Clark, Jackie Stewart (wrist) Mike Spence and Graham Hill.

Paul made an interesting discovery. In the top photo, JC's car has Lotus wheels on it! All the other photos I have the car is wearing Halibrands. I bet at some point JC had a vibration so they did a tire and wheel swap. I guess in hindsight Lotus wheels would have also been correct on test day. I think the Halibrands give it distinction.

Thanks Ralph. Can't call the figure my own as it came that way. STP uniform and everything. I just took it out of the box! LOL

Here’s my theory about the upside down STP sticker on the back access panel. In Andrew Ferguson’s book he talks about how much Colin Chapman hated the big STP stickers and by May, 1968 when the cars showed up at Indy, they were fitted with Lotus stickers that were as big as the STP stickers. I believe that the back panel can fit either way and that Chapman had the Lotus crew install it upside down when they put the body back on. I want to believe that it was just one of many little childish pissing matches that Chapman and Granatelli over their at times stormy relationship.
