Had a mishap clearing the tail piece. I had just cleared it when all the sudden I hear a "snap!" and I see my tail piece sail across the garage. It hits the concrete floor and boom! It breaks into two pieces not to mention the dust, dirt and chipping that occurred soon as it hit the floor. In the process of re-doing it. Ugh... While I was crying I decide to change direction and add the engine intake ports that lead to the hood ports. You see the ports in the hood are part of the hood itself. Under the hood I needed to make extensions so they would meet up with the ports in the hood when it is closed. The best way for me to do this was to break out the macaroni again! I sanded macaroni down with my dremel tool and glued them to the engine. Once done I started reworking the tail again.

Since the nose was reshaped I needed to make a new front and rear grill. I attempted to make my own by gluing thin pieces of plastic strip together and this was the result. I wasn't very warm and fuzzy about it so I asked Ralph what he would do. Ralph sent me some links to some different kinds of mesh but none of them were quite what I was looking for. Then Ralph sent me a link to a photo etch piece from Detail Master so I went to the site and order two of them. This is the result of the Detail Master grill and I was much happier with the result. With the grill installed I needed to add the outer chrome so I used Bare Metal Foil for it. Much happier!!! Thanks Ralph! I then moved to the tail piece and installed the grill in it. Next I need break out the Bare Metal Foil and add the outer chrome to it as well. Getting to the home stretch. Assembly to follow soon.

What a coincidence! I tried the same thing with intake ports on a kit I was doing but I didn't have any elbow macaroni, so I had to use linguini, but it just didn't look right! :-)
