I finished tonight my version of Alex Zanardi's 1998 CART championship-winning Reynard. Zanardi continued his dominance from the precious year as he romped to his second straight CART title in 1998, winning seven races and being on the podium 15 times in 19 starts. His run with Target Chip Ganassi from 1996-1998 saw one of the best combinations of team and driver in recent memory, with the Italian winning 15 races, ten poles, and 28 podiums during that span. Along the way he thrilled and delighted crowds with his daring and exuberance. The strength of his season helped propel him back into Formula One in 1999, where he had a disastrous campaign with Williams. Let go after the season, he took a sabbatical in 2000 but returned to CART in 2001 with Mo Nunn's outfit. He couldn't match his previous success as the season saw one frustration after another. It got worse at the Lausitzring, as a devastatingly horrific crash late in the race cost him both his legs. He didn't give up. Zanardi raced cars again as well as in the hand cycle in the Paralympics, winning multiple gold medals. The joy Zanardi brings to life cannot be contained and is a testament to the human spirit. The car is from the Revell Visteon Reynard kit, painted Tamiya Italian Red, with Indycals decals, and carbon fiber decals. I built unconventionally to get the car more correct as far as seams go as highlighted in this car's WIP. All in all I enjoyed this build and I thank you for your time in looking!

Love it! I got to see this race, but only saw his heroic pass on the big board!

Very nice, Jerry. I like all the details you did to get it look like the real thing. Even little things like painting the little strut on the rear wing are details often overlooked. Good to see those new IndyCals on this kit, the yellows on it really pop. I look back on this era fondly but man those Target cars won too much back then LOL
