For years I have been looking for the suitable 1/18th scale figure that I could convert into an Andy Granatelli figure wearing his STP outfit. For one I was surprised that no 1/18th figure of Andy existed at all until just recently. Replicarz has just released one that is a nice edition to your collection. The problem for me was, he isn't wearing the STP patch covered pajama like suit. So... I did what I normally do and take something perfectly fine and turn it into something else. I stripped Andy in a bath of Testors Easy Lift Off and repainted him. I then sized and printed out 50 STP decals to cover him. Guess what? 50 STP decals were not enough so I printed some more. I think I counted 90 of them LOL. He still needs a bit of touch up and a dull coat but here he is! Mr. STP lives again. REPLICARZ FIGURE  MR. STP  |

Great work, Stu! I do think, however it needs a little more work. I don't remember ever seeing Andy with his mouth closed.  |

Very Cool. Reminds of a story about Bob Clidinst. He did a car for Andy and was paid $1 for every STP he could put on the car. That was big money back in the day.

That's awesome! I learned not too long ago that Andy was a part of the President's Council on Fitness, Sports & Nutrition back in the day along with other racing personalities of Richard Petty and Bill Muncey |
