I like the idea of simpler wings and more ground effects to balance downforce. Frankly if they could be brought up to today's safety standards just bring back the 2000 Reynard.

I'll be the voice of dissension. I think the current cars are totally bad-(expletive deleted) and this is a step backwards.

I rather liked where they started off but with all the added aero bits they got too busy for my tastes. From the beginning I wanted to see the DW12 without the high intake. Paul Erlendson

I agree that the high intake needs to go. It will make the car sleeker and I am all about going back to the 90's look.

I am hopeful and optimistic. Proof will be in the pudding come 2018.

Don't like these cars either but at least they are doing something.

I'm all for getting rid of all that aero crap, as for the rest, let's wait, and see.

Much less downforce, much more onus on the driver.

LOL! I kinda figured this day would come when they came back with a "Champ car Reynard/Lola/Panoz"... look-a-like. It doesn't bother me, as long as people are happy.

If it's something like the Lolas from the 2005 and/or 1995 seasons, I'll be satisfied

I think the key to helping Indy racing and all the young drivers in the pipeline is to increase the number of cars. Indycar needs to make it easier for new owners to get in. I think an ideal number of cars for races other than Indy would be 24. It would be great if there could be some "one-offs" at Pocono and Michigan/Fontana (if they ever go back). There has been some good discussion of this at Racer.com. Jim
