This one was a bit of a challenge! I wanted to recreate Graham's Texas win figure in a cowboy hat shooting his six shooters! First I searched EBAY looking for a cowboy hat and six shooters I could use for my figure. I came upon an old MARX hard plastic cowboy figure that was wearing a hat and had his guns drawn. The problem was that the MARX figure is only 6" tall so I was hoping that is wasn't too undersized for my purpose. Also one of the barrels was broken off one of the guns so I had to scratch build one. I drilled a hole in the pistol and inserted two different sized pieces of aluminum tubing and added a plastic sight to the barrel. Once that hurdle was over I cut the hands and the cowboy hat off the MARX figure. The race figure is a 7" MacFarlane Dale Earnhardt figure. I removed his head and placed a Tony Stewart head in its place. I had to scalp the Tony Stewart and fit the hat on his head. After test fitting everything I was fairly confident that this was going to work out. Stripped the figure and repainted everything and here you have it! It's not completely done however. I am in the process of cutting out red, white & blue confetti in the shape of the state of Texas. I did some last night but the confetti is going to take almost as long as the figure! LOL
The hat is slightly undersized but was the best I could come up with. All & all I think he turned out great though.
