Injured in Nebraska last night, 30 minutes to cut him out of the car, airlifted to local hospital. Not much information out there but the video is BAD. After a series of flips, his car was struck in the cockpit by an oncoming car.

This is not good news, and this is the first I heard about it as I have not checked my openwheel boards yet this morning.
He is a very nice guy, goes like stink (and this is a dangerous sport) and really, really enjoys racing.

Terrible news this morning. I too had heard he was stable, and thought he would pull through. Devastating. He was a fun one to watch, a real racer. Some days I hate this sport.

Very sad news, no matter how safe we try to make it, racing is a dangerous sport.

Very sad news, and yes I too over my many years have questioned why I continue to love this sport.

Very sad, we are still losing IndyCar drivers all too often. My condolences to his parents, finance, family, and friends.
RIP BC

Bryan , with a "y"
This is bad. I spoke with him right after the Sprint Week round at Kokomo
I take solace in knowing this is EXACTLY what he wanted to be doing.

This hits me hard. I have been a big fan since 2011. I have seen him race many times, most recently at Placerville in March. A real racer.
RIP BC.

Spotted for him in 2012 (Indy LIghts). I was amazed by his composure in the car and appreciative of everyone's efforts in his behalf, a real pro. I mourn him as a friend and the sport has lost a rising star.

I've never been a huge fan of Danica, but I saw a pic of her on Facebook today manning the Clauson merchandise trailer at Knoxville. Major props to her for helping out (apparently the line went on forever).

Ricky Stenhouse Jr and Bryan were good friends, so I think that is a contributing factor. But still good on her for lending a hand.

I was only aware of Bryan Clauson. I didn't follow his career closely. It's sad that those of us that didn't will never get the chance. My condolences to the family, his friends, and to all those that were lucky enough to have known him. --Frank

Everybody in the sport knew he was good. Even I, being the biggest critic of anything the Hulman George Family dreamed up these past twenty years. Their "vision" was geared towards the talent Bryan possessed. He was the Prost of dirt track racing. In his short career he is fourth all time in victory's. This is an astounding record for a man who was 27 years of age. He was well on his way to eclipsing Kenyon, Foyt and Vogler.
On his forays into Indycar driving. I was always happy he was getting a shot and not surprised when he crashed. He was gaining experience four days at a time PER YEAR. He didn't get to test, he was really a token grid squid but he was getting seat time. He got better every year even with limited laps. Stan Fox figured Champcars out pretty well and it took him about three years. Bryan, if he could hang on in this ultra dangerous sport, had a chance. Clauson could drive circles around Ed Carpenter, bet your week's pay on it. Bryan did not have the financial resources to keep him in a car for more than one race a year. And he was getting help from the Tower Terrace.
Everybody knew. They knew he was a super talent. He won a bunch of those Nation Wise 2 tier NASCAR tour races, not to mention showed really well in a couple of ARCA races (which is a very good series that I even pay money three times a year to watch, ARCA is the bomb)
So yeah, I don't think it out of character for Danica to volunteer to help out. She is after all, a human being.
