Recently finished building a vintage kit of the Gatorade McLaren M16 from the 1975 Indy 500. It is the 35 (or more) year old 1/43 scale, all white metal kit from Precision Miniatures. I really enjoyed building their STP Wildcat a couple of years ago, but not so much this kit. Frustrating and not one of my better builds. Looks OK sitting on a shelf, though. A few parts were missing, so I had to scratch build a couple of suspension members from metal rod, the roll hoop from plastic rod, and find some aftermarket mirrors. The paint is from MCW and the decals from Indycals. (Kit decals were too dark of a green.) Mike

I built all of the Precision Miniatures many years ago, at least I think all of the them (Indy Cars). They were a tough build then so many years later you have done a great job on yours, certainly looks better than mine.
Well done, I like it a lot.

Really nice job.I'm learning that this scale can be much harder than larger scales.

Looks good to me. The frustration doesn't show. Don't see many Precision Miniatures builds.

Mike, the paint and detail work is very nicely done. I honestly thought this was 1/25 at first! I always learn something from builds here.

I have a bunch of those PM kits and lots of 1/43 kits in storage. I also have the IMRA Jorgensen Eagle 1975 winner kit. All are looking for good homes.

Thank guys.
I've got the other 2 PM Indy car kits (Coyote & STP Eagle), so I will eventually take another stab at them. They're just too cool looking when finished. The motors especially are little jewels.
SWT500, that IMRA kit should make you good money on eBay, if you really want to sell it. THE Holy Grail of 1/43 scale kits.
