WIP - 1/64 - 2004 Schumacher Ferrari

Started this customer project awhile back. Getting done with the body and decals. Still need to clean up minor mistakes, paint the rear wing sideplates, and figure out how I will mount the barge boards. This is mounted on an AFX Mega-G slot car chassis. Although this is commissioned to be a shelf queen. Photo intensive. Will put photos in a couple posts

The front wing is made up of 18 pieces of plastic.

I decided to make a diffuser in the rear. Crude, but it gets the idea across.

Started the paint process this past holiday weekend. I'm a brush painter type of guy, so you're looking at brush painted Testor's enamel from the bottle. Then started the decal process. Most decals are from Pattos Place out of Australia.

Made more progress tonight by getting the decals on the left side, finishing the front wing, installing a radio antenna behind the pitot tube. Starting on the rear wing and still need to paint the rear wing sideplates. I think I was able to get Schuey's helmet pretty close to his paint design??? Next??? On to figuring out how I am going to mount the barge boards.

Is it possible to mount the barge boards to the chassis, or must the whole thing be able to separate as two sections?

Good looking job and the helmet work in incredible given how tiny it really is to work on.

Thanks guys. Was able to get the rear wing painted and decaled. Here are a couple more progress photos.

Decided to go a different direction and use a chassis with gray wheels. Added "wash" to each wheel to bring out the depth and highlights. Only thing left is the barge boards.

These are the final photos of the finished car. I think the barge boards make a nice detail difference. Let me know if you would like to see any different angles before I send this off to it's new owner.
