Just was curious of the colours of the underside of the floor on the 89 Lola's. Is it all body colour or is the centre tub aluminium or all aluminium look?

Hi Shunter, The underside of the floor are not painted body color (colour) Although not a 89 Lola I think this photo shows how the typical team would deal with it. I would say on a 89 you could paint the underside flat black or to be totally correct carbon fiber decals. (I would go with flat black, decals are expensive!) Also Indy cars have a skid plate, made of alum. or plywood. Somewhere I have one of each and will post them when I find them. Hope this helps. Lew

As far as the under tray on the bottom side, they were bare carbon. Many teams used an aircraft clear to seal them, also believing there was a slight aero advantage. In either case, they were NOT painted. The interior of the under trays were also bare carbon. They were, in some cases, clear coated to prevent oil from delaminating the carbon. Hope you find this helpful.

Thanks for the clarification. I am always confused on cars from the 80's when parts switched to c/f.

Here are the skid plates. They are from the mid 90's. I don't remember from which team, I think one is from the 95 Duracell car. Lost to time and my bad memory.
