This little 1/24 kit came as a surprise to me when I discovered a bagged kit at Chris' SoCal NNL. I thought it was a Ford "T" at first, but later research proved to be a Hawk kit of the Hupmobile. A simple kit, but interesting as I later discovered a photo of one in racer form on a picture while attending a historic car race at Sears Point last month. The picture shows the National racing car(the subject of the photo), but also the little Hupmobile, #2! As I said it's a simple affair with out much detail... The car looks to be a dark color so I'm painting it "Blue Angels" blue...more later. Patrick

Now that's a cool subject matter Patrick. Do you know where this picture was taken? It's looks like some where in the states, from what the sign says on the building to the right. To me...that car looks the best. Plus...it looks like it's got P1...of course if that's the front row. Looking forward to more updates...

Closer to being finished for a simple kit...need to add a couple gauges and brake wires... It is smaller than a "T" racer! Patrick

Patrick: Well done! Simple, but effective...I always wonder what it must have been like to go 70-80 mph on Really skinny tires...no seat belts: no roll bar...testicular fortitude indeed! Tim

What a nice build this Hupmobile is! A simple tribute to those early drivers who chose a career on dirt, a career that so often proved to be fatal. This just shows how much class you have: you might say that you are, indeed, Hup-er class... --Frank

Thanks guys. I must confess that my building has slowed a bit as I get older, 68 now. My patience has been waning a bit for the tedious parts. Patrick

Looks great, Patrick. I have often wondered why we don't see more Hupmobile race cars built. I do believe you have one of a kind.

That is beautiful! You're a maestro. I may have to use this as inspiration for a future build!

Well done. I really enjoy it when one of us takes on a different era without rear end plates and such. Jim
