Question? Was the car constucted using the old AMT kit? If so how did you do the tire lettering? Decal, Paint. If you used a decal what method was used to remove the raised lettering on the rubber tires. Great Job! by the way!!!

If you used a decal what method was used to remove the raised lettering on the rubber tires. Great Job! by the way!!! First off, thank you for the compliment. Yes, I used the AMT kit with Indycals decals which were excellent. I only wish the body panel fit was a little tighter. I'll have to work on that on my next AMT Lola build I guess. I used a course sanding stick followed by some sandpaper in varying grades to remove the raised tire lettering and then applied Shabo dry transfers. G

Took your advice to remove the tire lettering on my Lola T8700 Bud road course car and it worked out very well. But instead of a course sanding stick i used a Dremel tool on low speed followed by fine sand papers and then applied water slide decals. Sure beat a 5/0 brush and Tamiya flat White paint. Thanks!!!!

Duke, hope you don't mind me sharing your thread. I'd rather not start a new thread for the same car. Ironically, I had the same issues with the Lola that you (and everyone else) seems to have. Panels don't line up exactly and the cowling doesn't sit perfectly so decals don't look right. Oh well, here goes:
