We're at lap 135 and ABC is in line for at least broadcasting 500 advertisements.

That's for sure Paul.....A ROOKIE from California won it this yr.....It was kind of a lack luster race(to me anyway) this yr. As fast as these guys go...I thought it might be more exciting towards the end of the race....Not this yr...

Well, this was a result that would probably never have been expected! Great race, great strategy to win. Very competitive with way more than the usual number of drivers being fast and well positioned. And like many times before, it can often be the driver and team combination that makes the fewer errors that can rule the day. It is races like this that make Indycar exciting. Close racing with unpredictable results.
Cheers to all who made the spectacle.

Before the race I was texting with Stu. I told him that if I was going to put money on a long shot it would be Alexander Rossi. I think I'll go check my Powerball numbers now! Paul Erlendson

I found the tv coverage to be very irritating. It felt like 5mins of commercials, 5 mins of racing, rinse repeat. There were WAY too many commercials. Really killed the vibe of the race for me. I am glad Rossi Won, good to see a rookie win the 500, and for #98 back in victory lane.

Call me a picky old geezer, but a couple of things (besides the commercials)really bugged me about the broadcast. First, I wish Scott Goodyear would stop saying "as we call it" every time he uses a term that's anywhere close to technical. Come on Scott, just talk and explain if you need to. Second, someone at the end of the race said "It's about being the first to 500 miles, not about being the fastest." I understand what he meant, but guys, being first to 500 miles IS being the fastest. End of old geezer rant. Congratulations to Rossi and the 98 team!

Something to point out is that as slow as Rossi was running at the finish he also drove the fastest lap of the race at 225.288. Also fought back from 25th place because of a couple of bad pit stops. Paul Erlendson

I was at that race and I'm very surprised and happy for Alexander Rossi. I was in the fronstretch infield stands and I was nervously shaking like a leaf on a tree in the closing laps. When Rossi crossed the Yard of Bricks a winner with no fuel left in the tank, I was screaming with joy just like when Ayrton Senna won the 1991 Brazilian Grand Prix. Oh man, I hope Greenlight gives Rossi's winning car in 1/18 the proper molding when the time comes.

It sounds like they will... but they've said that before My reaction was a bit different than yours... it was more like "WTF did I just witness???"... but upon reflection, that is good. Just helps cement Indy's legacy. Now I know how people must've felt when Hill won in 66. BTW... in the 150th running - put your money on the rookies, LOL! The only thing on TV is that they didn't play up the running out of fuel angle, and TV really didn't effectively show how slow he was going at the finish.

You might want to go to Racer.com and read Marshall Pruett's article about the strategy Herta used to help Rossi win the race. It was a smart move on his part that, apparently, no one else caught on to. Good for him. I was pleased with the outcome. Jim

Anyway, the reason for my excited reaction was the fact that it was an Andretti Autosport 1-2. Naturally, if it was Marco that won, my jubilant reaction would've been triple what it was

It was a great race and a great ending. I was there and also watched on tv afterward. Watching on tv you have to get yourself so involved with what is going on on the track and not really listen to the commentators. I'am sure with the commercials it was because of the 100th running that attracted a lot more companies to advertise. Detroit should be a double good one watch for Pagenaud.
