Make sure you get your picks in now for the fantasy game. I waited until this morning. Get them in before they close it up for this round!

Looked like a pretty good crowd, on a crappy day. It's good to be Simon P so far this year.

I had general admission and was down by pit-in so I didn't get a good look at the crowd but it SEEMED really strong everywhere I wandered throughout the day. You generally don't see the goings on behind the pit side stands and there are usually huge crowds back there. And the weather was FAR and away the worst I've ever experienced for a race in my 36 years attending races. 1992 was bad... this was worse. But it was still a great day. Here's a few pics: My 'office' during the race: Final practice action: Pagenaud pits during the race: Celebration: Doug Boles sporting proper headwear for the day.

Watched the first stint and headed home! Taped the race and watched it last night. Can we just all drive into turn 1 next year without an accident?!?

Still bragging. My 4th winner in 5 races. Also had Hinch, Rahal and Daly. that's a 1st, 3rd, 4th & 6th.

I love your photos Michael!
That was a heckuva good race. Simon Pagenaud has the hot hand for sure.
The one thing I noticed is that Honda seems stronger and they may factor into the 500 more than I thought.

Michael, very nice office for the day. Great pictures also. I think they need to make turn one just about another car width wider. Like Scott said in the booth these are race car drivers and they are not going to give. If they could just move that blue and white hump over just a tad I think it might help. I thought the race for a road course was fairly exciting. Wish there could have been a yellow with about 6 laps to go with a green flag falling for the final 4 to 3 laps but Indy car is not Nascar, they do not throw the yellow out just whenever they want. I am glad they did not give Dixon a penalty for that it really was just racing. Thanks again for the photos.

Was there an opening in the fence at your office to make it easier to shoot?

Yes... I suspect that spot will not be accessible next year, LOL.

It was COLD! I ended up buying a couple more blankets to wrap the kids up in. We were pretty bundled, but after all day in the wind, we were ready to get somewhere warm.
We sat on the berm going into turn 7. After two years on the front stretch, this was a nice change to see a braking zone, and we did see some good action.
Other than that, no real great adventures to report. Looking forward to the big race now!

Is Turn 1 for Indy Cars the same used for F!? On the overhead shots there seems to be a more gradual turn just north that might not be a crowded. Jim

In my opinion, if you're watching a road course race, the NW Vista and North Vista are not very good seats. Stand J is not too bad, but Stand H would be the best. I sat in the NW Vista for the F1 races and didn't care for the view. I sat in H for the Rolex races and they were great seats. On the other hand, most of the infield mounds offer good views. Great shots Michael. How do you get such great access?

The TV coverage was odd...they never announced the complete line up, unless I dozed off in the first 10 minutes of coverage. No national anthem. 2 pre race interviews...just seemed poorly coordinated.
