Oh my my, great build. I recall watching this race in 2000, thinking how great that a rookie had won the Indy 500, and how the CART Ganassi team had whipped the IRL teams. Clean, clean build, all those different sponsors on the nose

JPM won the race in the pits. Runner up Lazier spent less time on the track but more in pit lane. Some questions were raised and remain unanswered about the Ganassi fuel rig that day.

Yep. Buddy would work his way up to second place then pit sequences would start and he'd come out in the back half of the top 10 and have to work his way back up again - and he got no cooperation from traffic. Buddy turned the fastest lap of the race at the end. Even team mate Stan Wattles was faster than Montoya. On one restart it was Wattles, who was a couple of laps down, followed by Montoya and the rest of the field. Montoya never caught Wattles.

Thank you all! But it's such an easy kit to build that most of the credit should go to ARM and Chris Etzel....all I did was spray a little paint on and super glued it up.

BTW I just guessed on the placement of the mysterious John Deere logo in the cockpit...

BTW I just guessed on the placement of the mysterious John Deere logo in the cockpit... I do not recall noticing that before.... Great looking build, Calvin. It might be simple by now but these are for "advanced builders." Montoya had a similar strategy in 2014 and it almost paid off again. Up until that first yellow, he was on pace to stop once less than the rest of the field. Jordan

Spotting for Stan Wattles in 2000 was my first spotter gig. 2000 was before the wave around rule for cars laps down. We pulled away but as Michael said, we were laps down. The engine expired around lap 170.

This is sharp Calvin! I'm thrilled to see you building, you're a master and you did a great job with this car regardless how easy the Etzel kits are to build!
