I built this for someone who was a team member on this car. I used my March 86C upgrade kit on this. If there is interest I can make the decals available.

The 86C looks really great with your upgrade kit. Glad to see one built up.

Looks good. As I always say, the more decal choices the better.

Very nice. I'll definitely take a set in 1/43rd if you decide to make it available.

That is one beautiful race car, a lovely model and the epitome of what an Indycar should look like.

Interesting how the cars had two very different CP1 logos. That was the biggest challenge doing these decals.

I kept on thinking this car was going to be green...but when you showed me this finished pic I was actually very surprised to see it blue, red and white! I guess because I thought you were doing the 1986 version....

When I was told what car I was being asked to do, I too expected it to be green.

I'm sure you're in the same boat as me - doing these cars is a labor of love... but also educational and always fun to learn more about the cars and sponsors. Here's an ad in Popular Mechanics for CP-1. You had to mail order it, no wonder it didn't survive long. Great pic of Howard A. Smith with a Mercedes and Tom's 1987 car. CP-1 was a Curb Products brand. Looks like Mike Curb was taking a page out of Andy Granatelli's book. And you're correct, there were at least 5 diffrent versions of the CP-1 logo and none of them are as cool as STP.

I know in 1999 the Skoal car in NASCAR ran red, blue, green or gold schemes. I think it is to mimic their can colors which change with different flavored products. Jordan
