This is from Gordon's rookie year. He had great expectations but never lived up to his potential.

Nice job. I remember this car well. It is the catalyst for A.J.'s retirement at Indy. If I remember correctly,in the final practice on Pole Day morning,(when there was a real Pole Day), A.J. was turning laps that would have put him on the front row when the yellow came out for a car in the wall. They told A.J. it was Robbie. An hour later, A.J. asked for the track to himself, took his last lap and said goodbye.
