Anytime you hunt for reference photos to get a color everyone is different, the web always lies. The 2 photos above from gavkiwi makes my point. All you can do is the best guess you can muster.

This is one of my 500s that I saw in person and I think you are doing a great job on this one. It reminds of the car and I think the details are really good.

Out-freaking standing! An excellent job! You knocked this one out of the park...I understand that Rachael's came on the week of the race, or this car would have been really naked...supposedly got a 30% increase in sales the next few weeks for being on Cheever's winning car...I can't remember ever having seen this brand of potato chips... Again, nice job! Tim

Wow, you nailed it. You did a great job and I am amazed at all the details that are just right. Looking forward to seeing what you have up in the future and how you can help those who tackle this car after seeing your build.

Again, nice job! Tim Rachael's chips were a short lived company, from what I understand. For a while, they were available at Menards stores, but you don't have them in your part of the world. As I recall, they were pretty good. The packing cartons listed the vendor as "Cheever Enterprises" so I guess that would account for the Menards sticker on the car. Lots, and lots of back stories about sponsorship.

Up until recently there was a sandwich shop in Indy called Tom + Chee that served Rachel's, so they are still around.
Or the chips had a LOT of preservatives because they still tasted fine.

You guys are too kind. I won't point out the many flaws. CLM1545, Art, Gary, Tim, and Jordan, thank you, coming from you guys, your comments mean a lot. I am thinking of doing Kenny Brack's 1999 winner for my next project. Basically the same build as this one. I did notice that Micheal at IndyCals does not list this car. Gary, could you supply the decals for it? SteveK, It was a pleasure to meet and talk with you and Eric today at the Chicagoland Memorabilia Show. Eric, I was wondering how would you go about correcting the wing struts? Thanks again guys, Loran

Looks great Loran. You are not a Rookie now! Can't wait to see your next creation. If you can do a conversion as difficult as this one, (Especially your first time around) you can build anything)
Kudos!

Coming from you, that means a lot to me. Not sure I can build anything, but I am going to continue. Since I had good practice here, I have decided to do Kenny Brack's 1999 winner. Thanks again for steering me in the right direction from the start. I do intend to display this piece proudly. Loran
