I'm getting all my resources and research started for my next project. I'm building Gary Bettenhausen's March 86C he ran in the 1986 500. I've got the qualifying photo but it doesn't show what the endplates on the car looked like nor the right side of the car. If anyone has any photos or information I'd appreciate it much.
Thank you!

Jerry, my stock answer would be, as always, "talk to Walt".

Thank you for the advice Craig, I'll do just that.
The shot is perfect, thank you for sharing, that helps answer the wingplate problem!

Nothing but love for GB but this is about the least attractive scheme I have seen. Is this how it raced?

We found tickets in a garbage can while walking around the first weekend rain out. We went back the next weekend for round 2 and had the best seats in the house. It was the only year we sat in tose seats otherwise for the last 46 years it has been Granstand C Section 2 Row QQ (the top row) usually right across from the last 3 filled pit boxes.

It looks like Indycals has missed quite a few decals based on this race day shot they are probably based off qualifying photo. I can get a clearer picture made to determine what is missing. Timex, Uno, AJ Watson, front wings, the bird on the side. I may be able to make a fill in sheet for the missing stuff.

I'd love to build this car, too. Bo

I usually work in 1/43 so it should not be a problem. I'll bring the slide for printing in tomorrow...probably won't get it back until next week. Hopefully, in an 8x10 everything should be legible.

Working on the fill in sheet, I've got some feelers out for some more race day pics. Even after I enlarged mine I can't figure out the front wings, some words underneath Crest liners, the eagle holding the banner and the words above AJ Watson. Note that the Vita Fresh also changed from Orange Juices to Fruit Juices. the Vita Fresh also had a black outline.

I thought maybe the front wings were Eagle Creek nursery...they also were a sponsor on Billy V. III's car in 1987. It almost appears each front wing is different.

I am quite sure the right front wing reads "Eagle Creek" and the left "Nurseries".

Could the words above AJ Watson be "car owner"?

Sometimes it's smarter to look through your old photo albums than to just guess! I found this side view photo that I took of the car on the morning of the rained-out race day, and the words above AJ Watson are, of course, "chief mechanic". The "Eagle Creek" is quite clearly visible on the front wing, but I can't make out the text written in red below that. Interesting that the team apparently used the rain delay to land Timex and UNO as extra sponsors.

I just knew I had another shot since I was so sure about the front wings. And lo and behold, here it is! If it's difficult to see in the scan, the words in red under "Eagle Creek" are "SINCE 1925" and below "Nursery" it's "INDY & CARMEL"

Sure, I´ll bring them to work on Tuesday (Monday is a holiday here in Denmark) and have them scanned on our professional scanner there. Glad they can be of use.

Loving this car and one I may have to think of doing as I also enjoy the not so often built models. ampersand great to see a Dane into Indycars. I worked for Velux for 8 years and moved to Jutland where my wife is from for a few years...have to say I don't miss the winters....hahaha

Well I was lucky to meet Tom K a few times in Randers and I have to say one of the nicest guys I've ever met, and on the two occasions after the first meeting he remembered my name etc or maybe it was my wife he remembered? Hmmmm
