A bit more progress. This kit has given me a rough time. Thank God Lance includes 2 complete decals sheets, because I've needed all of them! (there's a reason this shot is of the left side!)

Does this car, in some form, still exist?

Does this car, in some form, still exist? Not sure. It was displayed in a museum here in Indiana for a time, but that has closed are the car was sold. Walt has been trying to track it down but nothing yet. I want to build the 72 version at some point.

Looks very nice. I have this kit to build and add to my Herk collection. I would appreciate any advice on things to look out for in assembling the car.

If you shot yourself in the foot, it must have healed nicely. This looks great! Best, Gary

Walt has been trying to track it down but nothing yet. I want to build the 77 version at some point. My understanding was the car in the Ernie Evans museum in Bedford Indiana was a replica built by Karl Kinser. It was similar this car only a later version with a few more appendages. He also had the Pespi/Frito lay Mallard as well. I have pics from the museum of both cars. Current whereabouts are unknown...I have never seen the car since I visited the Museum years ago.

The nose, engine & cockpit covers and tail on the Kinser frame are original body parts.

The Pespi/Frito Lay Mallard is located in the American Museum of Speed in Lincoln Neb. Home of Speedway Motors. I still haven't been able to locate the Miller Beer Mallard.

Pure function over form! I can't say it's not good looking, but it's not good looking, either. Either way, it's a damn nice build. --Frank

I wonder how hard it would be to do the Frito-Lay car?

Great photos! Thanks very much. I wonder how hard it would be to do the Frito-Lay car? I think that Kip is doing that one right now. From what he has posted, it would be right next to impossible, for me. But I'm not Kip.

I think you did a really nice job! I know what you mean about those gold ring decals, too! It's hit-or-miss with getting them on correctly.
